December 5, 2006 USCPF Annual Gala Dinner On the evening of December 7, 2006 the United States-China Policy Foundation hosted its annual gala event. The reception and dinner, held at the historic Willard Intercontinental Hotel in downtown Washington, DC, was presided over by Chinese Ambassador Zhou Wenzhong. Ambassador Zhou welcomed the over 200 guests with a speech emphasizing the need for enhanced cooperation and relations between China and the U.S. He specifically stressed the merits of the Strategic Economic Dialogue in accelerating international cooperation. Guests included members of Congress and congressional staff, U.S. government officials, foreign embassy officials, local think-tank scholars, Asia experts, corporate executives, and others with an interest in U.S.-China relations. Airbus, Amgen, Anheuser-Busch/Budweiser, Cargill Inc., China Telecom USA Corporation, Hong Kong Economic and Trade Office, IBM, Las Vegas Sands Corporation, Microsoft Corporation, PepsiCo, the Hershey’s Company, United Airlines, UPS, and Wal-mart Stores, Inc. sponsored the gala in support of the USCPF. |
