USCPF Hosts a Luncheon for a Delegation of Chinese Press Secretaries at the National Press Club

On October 20, 2006, the U.S.-China Policy Foundation welcomed a 19-member Chinese press delegation for their four day visit to the United States. The first of its kind to visit the United States, the Chinese delegation hoped to gain insight as to how press staff of the U.S. government works with members of the American media.

The delegation included high-level spokespersons from their respective ministries under the Chinese State Council. Such ministries included the Ministry of Commerce, Agriculture, Culture, and the State Sports Commission.

During their time in the United States, the delegation attended a one-week seminar at George Washington University’s School of Communication and visited the offices of The Washington Post and other media outlets. Their trip was concluded with a luncheon hosted by the USCPF at the
National Press Club.
